Billy and the Old Man Design was created from one person’s desire to have their Motorcycle painted and another person’s desire to expand his artistic talents in the use of an airbrush.

I am the Old Man, or Pat (the one with the bike). I rode when I was in the military but like a lot of people after I was out I got married, had two kids and had to give it up. After 30 years of looking at bikes and saying, “some day”, I decided I better do it while I still remember were the garage was.

Shortly after I got the bike, I was talking with a friend of my son who asked me if I had considered painting my bike, and if so, he could do it. I had known Billy since he was in elementary school and knew he had a BA in Art in which one area he focused in was painting. What I did not know was his work had been in over a dozen exhibitions and won awards. So I said yes.

After a year of discussions and research, Billy felt this would allow him to continue to expand his artistic talents, and more important, something he would enjoy. I had met so many great people since I started riding again; I knew this was an industry I wanted to be involved in. So Billy and the Old Man Design was born.

Our goal is simple, to do quality one of a kind graphic art at a reasonable price. No matter what you ride, be it a Harley, chopper or metric; we all have an idea how we would like are bikes to look. Billy and the Old Man Design takes your ideas and makes them a reality.

One of the most important decisions we had to make in organizing Billy and the Old Man Design was what primer, paint and clear to use. After look at many kinds of paint companies we selected X-otic Colours, Inc. There paint system was used on a winner of the Discovery® Channel's Biker Build Off, the quality was proven. The other reason we selected their paint system is it allows us the ability to have virtually unlimited number of colors in our shop. What this means to you is you are only charged for the paint we use whether we use two drops or a quart, there will not be a wait for a custom paint to be sent from the manufacturer. Their custom paint system helps us reach our goal of quality at a reasonable price.
